With a population of less than 20,000 people, Cranbrook has a lot to offer the traveler and it promotes itself as being the town with more sunshine than anywhere else in British Columbia.
The wide open valley that Cranbrook is located in is surrounded by mountainous terrain. This valley is home to an abundance of varying wildlife and for the sports enthusiast, there is hockey, hiking trails and several golf courses that are also part of Cranbrook’s lure. It is a town that was and is part of railway history; and, this history can be enjoyed by visiting their railway museum. The shopping enthusiast need not feel left out – take a tour off the main drag to find shops, boutiques and restaurants that are home to some to the local arts community.
