No so long ago, this little city had wooden sidewalks downtown and there were no traffic lights. Over the years it has evolved from a quiet country town to a bustling city.
One of Airdrie’s best features, in my opinion, is that you can still feel the charm of the country town in so many ways. The people who you meet and the businesses you visit hold the rural roots close. I still find that residents say “Hello” when they meet you on the street; and, there are shop keepers that remember your name.
Located on Hwy 2 north of Calgary, the city of Airdrie has a lot to offer its residents and travelers. From its history to the modern era, there is more than meets the eye.
